My elevator pitch is that I'm a creative guy with a full stack of skills: marketing, content, account management, media, video, email, social... However, we're not on an elevator.

Therefore, I have more time to describe what I do and where I’ve been. My professional background is unique so do you have a minute?

I grew up in Connecticut, but let’s skip ahead to when I moved to Telluride, Colorado during high school. That's where my creative education began. My first gig was as a DJ at KOTO FM when I was 17 years old (yeah like real FM radio). I had a genuine passion for promoting music at an early age. My on-air name was “The Nightfly” for all you Steely Dan fans out there. “I learned to work the saxophone” and attended college at the University of Colorado Boulder. My first cool job was as Program Director for an environmental program called Greenbucks. We produced concerts with up to 1,000 people and featured bands such as Ozomatli and The Greyboy Allstars.

I continued to DJ throughout college on KGNU Boulder and after many late nights (and early mornings) on terrestrial radio, I moved to San Francisco to pursue a career in the emerging digital music industry. From 2000 to 2010, I worked as an Editorial Producer for digital music sites, such as Rhapsody (during its heyday). I curated music content, programmed Internet radio stations, wrote album reviews, and developed relationships with major and indie record labels. During this time, my college friend Scott and I created the electronic duo Moped and recorded four albums. We held a monthly residency for 5 years in the Mission District and played throughout the Bay Area.

I worked for CBS Interactive (MP3.com, Last.fm) for 6 years specializing in producing featured content, label relations, podcasts, and video production. As a music/tech editor, I covered major industry events and conferences such as SXSW in Austin and CES in Las Vegas. I produced and edited interviews featuring well-known entertainers such as Sia, Marc Maron, Phoenix, and The Avett Brothers.

After living out west for 18 years, my wife and I moved to Connecticut in 2010 to be closer to family. I worked for GigMasters (The Knot) in Norwalk for 6 years as a Marketing Producer. I gained new marketing skills including Inbound strategy, lead gen, nurturing, email design, CRM, automation, and customer retention. Most notably, my creative efforts helped grow the contact base from 10,000 to 40,000 paying members.

During this time, I dusted off the turntables and became DJ Gavin as a side hustle. For 20 years now, I have been spinning the jams at clubs, private parties, weddings, and corporate events. And after a 10-year hiatus, I continued to create new music under my alias, Moped.

I started using HubSpot in 2012 and since then have become an expert with the all-in-one software for sales and marketing. I’ve created content and helped both B2B and B2C companies implement HubSpot, which has led to successful conversion and retention rates. I’m currently in Pittsburgh working remotely for various clients as “the HubSpot guy.” My talents continue to cover the full creative suite: websites, email, social media, nurturing, video, email and marketing strategy.

If you’ve made it this far down the page you know me much better now!

"Peter worked at GigMasters for nearly 6 years. One of our most naturally creative team members, Peter contributed in a number of ways to our marketing, branding, and vendor community outreach & engagement efforts. A very independent worker, Peter's expertise centered around two key areas - Inbound Marketing and Video Production. He approached both with a high amount of creativity and out-of-the-box thinking. Peter produced a company video, which brilliantly captured the essence of our company culture and mission. He executed the entire project start to finish - from the creative to the production. He demonstrated true full stack video capabilities. He continually challenged me to think differently about our product and to streamline our core value offerings into an easily consumable, mobile-friendly format for our vendors. Overall, Peter was a strong creative asset to the team throughout his years with the company."

Micheal Caldwell, CEO @ GigMasters / XO Group

"I hired Peter as a Producer at CBS Interactive, initially with a focus on writing and editing. He excelled in those areas, but he soon began showing interest in video, which, before long, became one of his chief areas of focus. Independent and highly motivated, he took the initiative to learn the skills needed for shooting, editing, and even hosting short video features and interview segments, and wound up producing innovative work that enhanced our content and propelled our brand into new territories. He was one of the best hires I’ve made — and a great guy to boot — anyone would be lucky to have him on board."

Kurt Wolf, Senior Content Strategist @ CBS Radio

"Peter stands out as the person with the best idea in the room. He thoughtfully considers the objectives and presents an out-of-the-box solution that often ends up being the winning idea. On top of his unique creativity and imagination, he has a depth of technical skills in production across various media (video, email, content, social) that ensure his ideas can successfully be turned into reality. I had the pleasure of working closely with Peter since 2012 and can recommend him without any hesitation."
